Thought this was an appropriate piece to feature on this blog, as "caritas" is what our community is about. And do NOT translate it as "charity", as that is totally inaccurate.
Krissy, Caritas must NOT be translated into English. This definition, given in Wikipedia, comes closest:
Love, in this sense of an unlimited loving-kindness towards all others, is held to be the ultimate perfection of the human spirit, because it is said to both glorify and reflect the nature of God. [...]
Wikipedia warns against the confusion caused by translating caritas into English. The words charity and love are both inaccurate, and I do not accept those as alternatives. I'm really specific in my choice of wording.

Guido, Looking up the definition of charity and came up with this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charity_(virtue)
Is there perhaps a different definition you intended for us? Could you share?
Thanks! :)
